Compiled by Gordon Freegard based on research by Merilyn Stewart

Albert was born in 1884 (1885) in Wycheproof, Buloke Shire, Victoria. He was one of the first settlers in the Jackitup district on their property called "Glenview".  Albert was tall and broad - described as a "giant of a man", Albert was "unassuming and as gentle as he was big".

Albert married Eliza May née Stutley who was born in 1891 (1895) at Murray Town, (Mount Remarkable), South Australia.
Eliza was the daughter of Charles and Eliza Stutley.

They had seven children:
Martha  born 1912
Jane     born 1915
John     born 1917
Victor   born 1920
Stella   born
1924 (died 1960)
Robert  born 1930
Norma  born 1934.

Albert served for several years as a member on the Gnowangerup Road Board. In the early days of the area, Mr. Baxter's services were often called on in the capacity of a vet as his skill with animals was well known.
